Capilla del Monte
Capilla del Monte is a city embedded in the heart of Sierras de la Punilla, in Cordoba. It is the ideal place to connect with nature, mystique and mystery. You can visit transcendental places such as the Cerro Uritorco known for its stories of UFO sightings and metaphysical legends.
The city is the only one in South America to have a 100 meters long roofed street, which was originally built for the Festival of Cinema and Photography in 1964. This is where all major restaurants and cafes are in the city.
There is a great choice of adventure activities in Capilla del Monte and various places to visit in the surrounding mounts with places like Los Terrones or Ongamira Caves.
The site characteristics allow the growing of a dense flora, made of carob forests, palmtrees and quebracho. In terms of fauna foxes, pumas and many birds can be seen.
In Capilla , the old “Los Tres Gomez” is the hostel in Capilla del Monte, located in the heart of the province of Cordoba, attended with the warmth and dedication that only a local family could offer.
From the city, you can also visit the spa town of San Marcos Sierra, Villa Carlos Paz, La Falda y La Cumbre
What to visit:
The Cerro Uritorco is the spirit and energy icon of Cordoba, besides being the highest peak in Sierras Chicas. The main touristic attraction is brought by tourists from all around the world attracted by encounters of the 3rd type and energy fields, reputation which has spread in recent decades.
Each season, thousands of visitors ascend to the summit for moments of peace and harmony. The landscapes, made of various chromatic peaks fading into the horizon give the soul some rest. Uritorco is by far Argentinas’metaphysical.

El Zapato: A semi nature reserve, with incredible view of the Cajon dam and Uritorco mounts, The Las Gemelas y Obero.
La Techada: The only street with a “roof” , where all the city's social activity is concentrated, with shops, bars and restaurants.
Adventure Tourism & Trekking: Capilla is the ideal place for bird watching, horse riding, climbing, paragliding, motocross, cycling and walking. You can make these and other activities, all in an environment surrounded by nature.
Antique Tools Museum: Here you can see tools used in Cordoba from 1750 onwards.
UFO Museum Reporting Center: free entry, has a library of documents confirming extraterrestrial presence, a newspaper library and archives associated with mystical issues.
Ongamira Caves: It is a valley eroded over millions of years; many shapes remind the strenght of nature. The caves also use to be an aboriginal camp base for indigenous comechingones until Spanish occupation.
Huertas Malas: An altitude spot with a microclimate, crystal clear waters and natural waterfalls.
Granja Casablanca: This is an organic vegetable garden, farm animals and wildlife.
Pueblo Encanto : Old indigenous settlement converted into a recreational site in the nineteenth, with a house of Spanish-Moorish building construction, used for events such as mystical initiation meetings.
How to get there
You get to Capilla del Monte by either by car or bus.
Plane: The option is to take a plane to Cordoba City with Aerolineas Argentinas or Lan with daily departures, you then get a bus to Capilla del Monte by bus.
